Dan Kreiger began studying classical piano at five years of age. At eleven, he began studying jazz as well. Playing gigs at twelve, and teaching at fifteen, Kreiger began his career as a musician early.
During High School, he attended the preparatory division at the Manhattan School of Music, in addition to being involved in various professional jazz and rock ensembles. During this time, he also studied at various summer programs including the Hartwick Institute and the Litchfield Jazz Festival.
After graduating from Wilton High School in 2003, Kreiger decided to attend New York University, majoring in music performance. At NYU Kreiger developed his skills as a classical pianist under the instruction of Dr. Deirdre O'Donohue.
He performs and records his classical repertoire regularly. He has also studied jazz piano with Jeremy Manasia, David Berkman, Ted Rosenthal, Kenny Werner, and Don Friedman.
Below are three of Frédéric Chopin's Nocturnes. They are performed by Dan Kreiger, and recorded by Theo Aronson.
